Good Enough.

Many times I find myself wanting to be the author of my own story. A story I press with ink to impress, awe, and leave others speechless. A story with new characters written in, new plots, and a new climax. However, this is a truth I have discovered...

I’ve become the author to my own deed
Picking out the parts I thought I could lead
Forgetting the true author of my needs
Now realizing I’m open for all to read

I get impatient with how things go
I wanted a faster way then slow
I wanted to be there and not here
Wanting to live the now’s with the not yet’s

Let me wait for you right here
Holding onto you without no fear
Let me feel whole when I’m torn
Patiently embracing you right here

I feel my day with all these tasks
Fighting to feel the “good enough”
This is where you finally prove
Your grace is sufficient enough

Let me wait for you right here
Holding onto you without fear
Let me feel whole when I’m torn
Patiently embracing you right here

You hold me in your embrace
Whisper my name child of grace
You fill the deepest part of me
My child let go and simply be

Let me wait for you right here
Holding onto you without fear
Let me feel whole when I’m torn
Patiently embracing you right here

"You yourselves are our letter of recommendation, written on our hearts, to be known and read by all.And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."
    - 2 Corinthians 3:2-3

"Wait for the Lordbe strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!"
- Psalm 27:14

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God"
- Hebrews 12:2

Lord. You are Good.

Many times we questions, "God are you really good?"

As I began to process this question this is what happened.

You give a peace that surpasseth my understanding
You guard my heart and all my ways
You lead me beside still waters
And I find rest
Take my yoke it is so easy
Take my burden it is light
Cast all your cares on me
For I care for you
Oh Lord you are good, oh Lord you are good
Oh Lord you are good
You are good
I try to carry it all on my own
I begin to loose all control
Take the back seat while
I shut you out
I lost sense of your freedom that you give
Bound by the doubt in my mind
All the silly lies I believe
Set me free
Oh Lord you are good
Oh Lord you are good
Oh Lord you are good
You are Good
Wake up my soul
I want to feel ALIVE
I want to Feel ALIVE
Feel Alive

Tough Call.

(...without blemish before the Lord, without blemish before the Lord, without blemish before the Lord).

(...pleasing aroma to the Lord, pleasing aroma to the Lord, a pleasing aroma to the Lord).

                                                                                                         -Leviticus 1:3b, 9b,17b.

Do you get the feeling God is trying to saying something?

Have you ever had someone repeat a story, a phrase, or even a simply word to you several times? And when they repeat it, they usually emphasis it with a voice change. I can almost hear God saying these words to Moses, over and over, with a slight change in His voice. "Moses, tell the people of Israel when they bring an offering to the LORD, it needs be be of livestock from their herds and flocks...without blemish... as a burnt offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord." - Leviticus 1:3,8.

I couldn't help but think of the process the people of God had to walk through in order to offer their praise, thanksgiving, and forgivness to the Lord. How many hours did this offering take? How was their jobs, families, and days effected? What was their attitude toward this offering? Did they find contentment, freedom, and fullfilment? What was going on in their hearts?

(...present your bodies as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God (without blemish)...)
                                                                                                                 - Romans 12:1

(...so He (God) may present the church ... without spot, wrinkle or without blemish).
                                                                                                                 - Eph. 5:27
(For we are the aroma of Christ...)
                                               - 2 Cor. 15

The opportunity, blessings, and journey lies ahead each of us as well. Instead of offering our livestock we are called to offer our very own lives. On the days we are just not "feeling" it, the days we feel empty, and on the days we feel "not good enough"how do we hear God's voice? What aroma does our lives give to those around us? May we truly know the impact each of our lives holds, the callings, and choices each day holds. Be impactful. Be living. Be active. Be a pleasant aroma.
