The day was Friday, March 22nd. 3:15pm.
My big interview day. Student Nursing Summer Internship. VALOR Program. Minneapolis, MN.
Emotions raging from nervousness to excitement to uncertainty. My stomach upset, mind and heart racing.
They called my name, in an instant I was standing and walking into a large conference room.
Two nurses. Two managers. One education director. Me.
Several questions were asked.
I was given the opportunity to share my passion, dreams, and heart for nursing.
I was given the opportunity to share my calling, my emotions, and my vision for my future.
I was given the opportunity to inspire, encourage, and be encouraged.
My expectations were to be asked questions, to give straight forward answers, and leave an impression.
What actually happened.
I was engaged, lead into showing my true heart, and being able to intricately express what makes me come alive.
My faith, learning, growing, inspiring, creating change, impacting, and truly making a difference in lives each moment given. Realizing when I bring others in on this journey I am driven to excel.
As the interview came to a close. I stood, took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Smiled and reached my hand out as to thank each interviewer for their valued time. At this moment one of the nurses held onto my hand and said, "Whatever you do, never lose your faith, it shines so brightly through you!" As she spoke each person in their room softly agreed. The next interviewer reached out, took my hand and stated, "Molly, whatever happens, you are going to impact the nursing field in huge ways. I am truly inspired."
Through teared filled eyes I truly thanked them for their words and encouragement. I left the room feeling light as a feather, yet heart stirred and inspired.
At this moment. I do not know the the outcome. However, this I know.
I was given the opportunity to be light. be inspiration. be encouraged.
I was given the opportunity to thank God, trust, and apply faith.
In every moment given is the chance to awake life, be light, and be change.
In the each moment, in each opportunity you are given, how do you inspire? be light? be change?
May your light shine bright.
May your life inspire.
And may you feel encouraged to never give up on your dreams.
What an amazing account of your interview. Wishing the best for you and the courage to continue to share your faith wherever you may go.
